Điểm của chúng tôi
Good-value, enjoyable eFoils and scooters, held back by a weak app and full-speed battery life that trails the claims.

Waydoo makes two very different kinds of water toys: the Flyer EVO electric hydrofoil boards (eFoils) and the Subnado pocket-sized underwater scooters. This Waydoo review looks at both families, what each costs, how they performed in independent tests, and the return and shipping terms you get when buying direct. The short version: the Flyer EVO is one of the most beginner-friendly eFoils for the money, and the Subnado is a strong budget scooter, but both have battery quirks you should understand before paying.

Our verdict in brief
Buy a Waydoo Flyer EVO if you want to learn to eFoil without paying premium-brand prices and like the idea of upgrading the board, motor or battery later. Pick a Waydoo Subnado if you snorkel or dive casually and want a light scooter that travels easily. Skip Waydoo if you want a polished companion app, need an underwater scooter with long full-speed runtime, or plan to fly often with the larger Subnado Plus.
How we researched this review
We read independent reviews from Boat & Sail Magazine (Flyer EVO) and DiveIn (Subnado and Subnado Plus, both with timed pool tests), plus buyer's guides from two Waydoo dealers, Elite Watersports and LeaderSurf, whose owner has ridden Waydoo boards since backing the first one. Dealers sell the boards, so we use their sizing advice but not their praise as evidence. We checked current prices and policies on Waydoo's own site. We did not ride or dive with the products ourselves.
Waydoo products and prices
| Product | Price |
|---|---|
| Waydoo Flyer EVO (Pro Plus) | About $6,300 to $7,000 in the US; top speed about 28mph; 1800Wh or 2300Wh battery (Boat & Sail Magazine) |
| Waydoo Subnado | $429 on Waydoo's store (Waydoo) |
| Waydoo Subnado Plus | $699 at review time (was $799); 144Wh built-in battery; rated to 197 feet (60 m) (DiveIn) |
Flyer EVO prices vary widely by build. Boat & Sail Magazine quotes the range from about €5,800 for the Lite up to €9,550 for the Master Plus, and Elite Watersports, a Waydoo dealer, lists the EVO Light at under $5,000.
The Waydoo Flyer EVO eFoil
Waydoo Flyer EVO
The Flyer EVO is a platform rather than a single board: you pick a board size, mast, wing, motor and battery, and each part can be swapped later. Boat & Sail Magazine sees the EVO as the point where Waydoo moved from budget alternative to genuine contender, with the battery dropping straight into the deck and a ride that is strong, easy and fun for a fraction of a Lift eFoil's price. Its main complaint is the app, which it calls a low point.
The boards are made from EPP foam, a soft but tough material rather than fiberglass or carbon. The top Master Plus uses a lighter Kevlar board instead. The Performance builds add a self-leveling flight assist that uses sensors to hold the board steady for beginners and can be turned off as you improve; the cheaper Light skips those sensors and GPS, per Elite Watersports.
Battery and charging
The EVO runs on a 1800Wh or 2300Wh Powerflight battery. Boat & Sail Magazine reports a full charge in about 2hrs on the fast charger and about 4hrs on the standard one, plus a storage mode that stops charging at 80 percent for winter. Add the optional inverter charger and the battery doubles as a power source for appliances. LeaderSurf's owner saw a charge from 36% to 100% in just over an hour on the newer charger, according to LeaderSurf. The larger battery suits heavier riders and longer sessions; the smaller one makes the board lighter and more agile.
Rider weight and setup
Motor choice matters most for heavier riders. Elite Watersports pairs the stock 4000W motor with riders under 198 lbs and recommends the 6000W Performance motor with the 2300W battery for riders over 200 lbs, the same motor it fits to every lesson and rental board, per Elite Watersports. Boat & Sail Magazine also suggests choosing the smallest board you can learn on comfortably, since big boards feel safe on day one but dull within weeks.
The Waydoo Subnado underwater scooters

Waydoo Subnado
The standard Subnado is a slim, light scooter you can strap to your forearm, your tank, or under a kayak. DiveIn found it the lightest model it has tested at 3 pounds (1.4 kg), slim enough to fit a backpack's bottle pocket and friendly for air travel. After two years of use it remains one of that site's favorite gadgets. The catch is battery life at full speed: Waydoo quotes 30 minutes, but the DiveIn test lasted 12 minutes at full speed before dropping to a slower mode for another 13. Checking the current speed setting or remaining charge mid-dive is also tricky.
Waydoo Subnado Plus

The Plus adds a stronger motor, a bigger 144Wh battery and 140W fast charging in a slightly longer body. In timed 80-foot pool sprints, DiveIn found it 20 to 40% faster than the standard model in every setup, pulling an adult with no gear at about 2.8mph. Full speed lasted 11 min 31 s before the scooter stepped down to reserve power, far short of the claimed 60 minutes, which assumes lower gears. The bigger battery is built in, and DiveIn was refused airline approval to fly with it.
Buying direct: returns and shipping
Waydoo's refund policy gives you 14 days after delivery to request a return. Items must be unused and in original packaging with proof of purchase, sale items and gift cards cannot be returned, and power batteries and hand controllers may be non-returnable in some countries. Contact Waydoo for a return label first; parcels sent back without approval may not be accepted.
The shipping policy estimates delivery in 2–5 business days. Orders of $99 or more ship free, but that offer excludes the Flyer EVO and its related products. Waydoo's shipping policy also says orders are confirmed within 2 business days.
Pros and cons
Pros:
- Flyer EVO costs far less than premium eFoils
- Modular boards, motors and batteries you can upgrade later
- Self-leveling flight assist helps beginners
- Tough EPP foam boards
- Subnado is light, slim and travel-friendly
Cons:
- Waydoo's app is weak, per reviewers
- Subnado scooters run far shorter at full speed than claimed
- Subnado Plus battery needs airline approval to fly
- Short return window, with exceptions for batteries
- No free shipping on the Flyer EVO
Who should buy Waydoo, and who should skip it
The Flyer EVO suits beginners and improving riders who want one board that can grow with them, and families who share a board. Heavier riders should budget for the bigger motor and battery. The Subnado suits snorkelers, travelers and casual divers who want a fun boost; the Plus suits divers who want more speed and mostly stay local.
Skip the eFoil if you want the most refined premium ride regardless of price, and skip the scooters if you need long sessions at full speed. Whatever you ride, dress for the water: our Nobis review covers warm parkas for the walk back from a cold-water session, and our Closemate review looks at everyday socks for the drive home.
Alternatives
For eFoils, Lift is the premium benchmark; Boat & Sail Magazine notes the Waydoo EPP boards cost a fraction of a Lift, while the Master Plus edges toward premium pricing. For underwater scooters, DiveIn compared the Subnado with the Lefeet S1 Pro and other compact scooters, and still rated the Subnado as one of the best budget picks.
Our ratings
Overall: 4/5, because Boat & Sail Magazine and DiveIn found Waydoo's eFoils and scooters good value and enjoyable, while a weak app and short full-speed battery life hold them back.
Waydoo Flyer EVO
Waydoo Flyer EVO: 4/5. Boat & Sail Magazine found it easy to assemble and ride, with a modular design and good value, though the app disappoints.
Waydoo Subnado
Waydoo Subnado: 4/5. DiveIn rates it compact, well-priced and travel-friendly, but its full-speed battery life falls short of the claim.
Waydoo Subnado Plus
Waydoo Subnado Plus: 3.5/5. DiveIn measured real speed gains over the standard model, but short full-speed runtime and airline trouble with its battery cost it points.
FAQ
Is a Waydoo eFoil any good?
Yes, for most riders. Boat & Sail Magazine found the Flyer EVO easy to set up, fun and far cheaper than premium rivals, with the app as its weakest point.
What if I am over 200 lbs?
Choose a Performance build with the stronger motor and larger battery. Elite Watersports recommends the 6000W motor and 2300W battery for riders over 200 lbs.
Can I upgrade the motor later?
Yes. The Flyer EVO is modular, so you can swap the motor, battery, mast, wing or board instead of buying a new eFoil.
How long does the Waydoo Subnado Plus battery last?
At full speed, DiveIn measured 11 min 31 s before reserve mode kicked in, plus another 26 min 30 s at reduced power. Waydoo's longer claim assumes lower gears.
Can you take the Waydoo Subnado Plus on a plane?
Only with airline approval, because its larger battery is built in, and DiveIn was refused on one trip. The standard Subnado is smaller and was easy to travel with in DiveIn's experience.
Is the Waydoo Subnado Plus safe for kids?
DiveIn tested it with a kid-weight rider, who went faster than adults because of lower drag. Waydoo's controls are simple, but children should always use it with close adult supervision and appropriate swimming ability.
Is Waydoo good for lesson businesses?
Dealers think so: Elite Watersports runs Waydoo boards with the stronger Performance motor for its lessons and rentals, and the self-leveling assist helps new riders get up quickly.
