Comment nous avons noté chaque produit

Levoit has become the default answer when someone asks for an affordable air purifier, and a "levoit review" search usually means one of two things: is the brand trustworthy, and which of its many similar-looking models fits my room? We went through independent lab-style tests from HouseFresh, PurifierBeast, Bob Vila and others, checked current prices on Levoit's own site, and sorted the lineup by room size, which is the single most important factor when choosing a purifier.

Short verdict: Levoit is the best-value air purifier brand for bedrooms and mid-size living rooms, with quiet operation and cheap replacement filters. Choose by room size, not by price alone: the small models struggle in bigger spaces. If you need serious odor removal or want to clean a large open-plan room, look at the Core 600S or a rival brand.

Is Levoit a trustworthy brand?

Levoit is owned by VeSync, a company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and PurifierBeast notes that its Core 300 and Core 400S appear in the AHAM CADR database, meaning an independent lab has confirmed their air cleaning numbers. That is a meaningful point in a category full of brands that publish no verified figures at all.

The same review is candid that the brand is strongest in small rooms, quiet operation and low filter costs, and weaker on large-room coverage and odor removal. That matches what the hands-on testers found, as you will see below.

The Levoit site also sells humidifiers, tower fans and cordless vacuums, all controlled through the same VeSync app. This review focuses on the air purifiers, which is what nearly every competitor review covers.

Which Levoit air purifier should you buy?

The short version, by room:

  • Small bedroom or nursery: Core 300.
  • Most bedrooms and living rooms: Vital 200S.
  • Large living rooms and open-plan spaces: Core 600S.
  • Want the quietest high-end model: EverestAir.

HouseFresh, which buys every unit with its own money and has benchmarked well over a hundred purifiers, makes the same broad split and adds a list of Levoit models it would avoid. We cover those further down.

Levoit Core 300

The Core 300 is the classic small-room Levoit. PurifierBeast lists an AHAM-verified CADR 141, a 24 dB sleep mode, and coverage of 219 sq ft, and calls it the best budget pick for bedrooms. Its weak points are the lack of an auto mode or air quality sensor and filters that need replacing every 6 months.

The Levoit site currently shows the Core 300-P at $84.99, down from $99.99. For a bedroom where you mainly want quiet, clean air overnight, it is hard to beat at that price.

Levoit Vital 200S

The Vital 200S is the model most testers recommend for the average home. HouseFresh measured it clearing its test room of incense smoke in 24 minutes at 57 dBA, which it calculates is enough to clean rooms up to 373 sq. ft. five times per hour, faster than some pricier Coway, Blueair and Dyson models.

The washable, removable pre-filter is a practical plus, since a clogged pre-filter drags down performance. The trade-off HouseFresh flags is an infrared dust sensor rather than a laser one, so you need to keep it clean for auto mode to work well. The Levoit site lists the Vital 200S-P at $189.99.

Levoit Core 600S

For large rooms, the Core 600S is the one to look at. HouseFresh measured a PM1 CADR of 375 CFM, cleared its test room in 16 minutes, and estimates it can handle rooms up to 562 sq. ft. five times per hour. It is tall and needs floor space, but that is the price of moving a lot of air.

The Levoit site lists the Core 600S-P at $299.99, which puts it well below most large-room purifiers from premium brands.

Levoit EverestAir

The EverestAir is Levoit's design flagship. HouseFresh's EverestAir review found sound levels from 39.1 to 57.8 dBA across its speeds, which is quiet for a purifier this powerful, at a list price of $499.99. It also estimated running costs of $215.13 per year once filter replacements are included.

The catch: the cheaper Core 600S delivers similar cleaning power, so you are paying the premium mostly for looks and quietness.

Levoit models to skip

Not every Levoit is a good buy. HouseFresh lists the Core Mini, Core 300 and Vital 100 pairing, the LV-PUR131, the Core 200S and two LV-H models among those it does not recommend, mainly because cheaper or similarly priced Levoit models clean the air faster.

The Core Mini shows why room size matters. In Bob Vila's test, it was rated for rooms up to 178 square feet and took almost 3 times longer than other models to clear pollutants, although it was very quiet at 20 decibels on low.

The Core 200S has fans too: Air Purifiers Hub found it quiet with a reliable app, but notes it only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and lacks an auto mode. It works for a nursery or small office, not a living room.

Running costs: filters and electricity

Filters are where Levoit saves you money over time. PurifierBeast puts Core 300 filters at $15-25, lasting 6-8 months, roughly half what Dyson charges per year.

Larger models cost more to run. Levoit's filter page lists the Core 400S-P carbon replacement filter at $59.99, and HouseFresh's EverestAir review puts that model's standard filter at $99.99 a year. Factor the filter cost into the purchase price, especially if you plan to run the purifier around the clock.

Warranty and returns

Top Consumer Reviews lists a 30-day return policy, even for used products, and a 2-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. That return window is useful for a product whose noise and performance depend so much on your specific room.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Strong cleaning performance for the price in small and mid-size rooms
  • Quiet sleep modes on most models
  • Cheap, widely available replacement filters
  • Independent CADR verification on popular models

Cons

  • Small models struggle in larger rooms
  • Thin carbon layers on budget models limit odor removal
  • Some smart models cannot join the faster Wi-Fi band
  • Similar names make it easy to buy the wrong model

Levoit vs Coway and Dyson

Levoit's main rival in the mid-range is Coway. PurifierBeast argues the Coway AP-1512HH at $120 delivers CADR 246, nearly double the Core 300, so for rooms above 220 sq ft it is the stronger value. In bedrooms, it rates the two as roughly equal, with Levoit cheaper.

Against Dyson, Levoit wins on price and filter costs, while Dyson sells on design and features. HouseFresh's test shows the Vital 200S cleaning faster than a much pricier Dyson model, which is a good reminder that the logo is not the performance.

If you are upgrading the air in your home, clean floors matter too: our Dreame review covers robot vacuums that pick up the dust before it gets airborne. For kitchen smoke and smells, a purifier helps, but so do the appliances you cook with: see our reviews of Cosori air fryers, Breville espresso machines, KitchenAid stand mixers and YETI drinkware.

Who should buy Levoit, and who should skip it

Buy Levoit if you want clean air in a bedroom, nursery or average living room on a sensible budget, and value quiet operation and low running costs. Allergy sufferers get real HEPA filtration without paying premium prices.

Skip Levoit if you need to clean a very large or open-plan space with one unit, or if smoke and odors are your main problem. In those cases a high-CADR model with a heavy carbon filter from another brand may serve you better.

Our ratings

Overall: 4.5/5, because Levoit offers independently verified performance and low running costs at budget prices, as HouseFresh testing shows, with weak spots in large rooms and odor control.

Levoit Core 300

4.5/5. The best small-room value per PurifierBeast, held back only by the missing auto mode.

Levoit Vital 200S

5/5. The best all-round Levoit in HouseFresh testing, fast and smart for the price.

Levoit Core 600S

4.5/5. Large-room power at a fair price according to HouseFresh, but bulky.

Levoit EverestAir

4/5. Very quiet and powerful in HouseFresh's EverestAir review, but the Core 600S cleans nearly as well for much less.

FAQ

Is Levoit a trusted brand?

Yes. Levoit is owned by publicly listed VeSync, and several of its models have independently verified CADR figures. Testers consistently rate it as one of the best-value purifier brands.

Does Levoit use real HEPA filters?

Its main purifiers use a three-stage filter with a pre-filter, a HEPA-type particle filter and an activated carbon layer. PurifierBeast mentions a past controversy over HEPA claims, so check the specific model's filter description before buying.

Is Levoit good for allergies?

Yes, for the right room size. The HEPA stage captures pollen, dust and pet dander, and the quiet sleep modes make it easy to run overnight in a bedroom.

How long do Levoit filters last?

It depends on the model and how often you run it. Budget models typically need a new filter twice a year, while the EverestAir's filter lasts longer according to Levoit.

Is Levoit better than Dyson?

For pure air cleaning per dollar, yes: independent tests show mid-range Levoit models cleaning faster than more expensive Dyson units. Dyson offers more design flair and extra features.

Will a Levoit air purifier be noisy?

Most Levoit models are quiet on low and sleep settings and only become noticeable at full speed. Bob Vila's tester found the Core Mini barely audible on its low setting.

The Core 200S will not connect to Wi-Fi. How do I fix it?

The Core 200S only works on 2.4 GHz networks, as Air Purifiers Hub explains. Temporarily turn off your router's 5 GHz band during setup, or create a separate 2.4 GHz network name, then pair it again.
